LITTLE WING GUY'S PROFILE
I may have little wings, but I have a big dick heart.
Hey there. I've been into game making since about 2008, but it wasn't until 2014 I was able to complete my first ever game! The game was started and finished in a single week for a contest. In one week I was able to do what I struggled with for 6 years. 6 WHOLE YEARS. HILARIOUS ISN'T IT.

Hello, again.
Forum Topic subscriptions
I think when you create a topic it should be automatically on. However any other topic you should subscribe to manually, since I doubt it's going to take that much effort to click a button. However it would be somewhat annoying if you post just once in a random topic and completely forget to unsubscribe, because while I don't personally post all that much, people like chana will be overloaded with notices, especially if they don't visit for a day or two, and that topic is very popular.
Maybe once you reach a certain threshold of posts in one topic, it automatically subscribes since you are obviously interested in it, despite not clicking to subscribe. I don’t know if that’s a good idea though!
You definitely should be able to subscribe to any topic, whether you post in it or not.

How did you get started in RM ?
When I was about 17, I saw a guy on Youtube called W00tcake making Tales of a Twist, a comedy fangame of Tales of Symphonia, he’s still on Youtube as far as I know. I asked him all about it in my most incoherent and overly excited way, and as it turns out he was a really nice guy who took time out of his day to explain a lot about RM, how switches and variables worked, and the like (and I asked a fucking lot of dumb questions). So thanks to him I got into it, sure I always wanted to get into game design in some way, but never thought such a simple program would ever exist.
Also, here's a fun fact: When I was 13 I entered a monthly design a videogame contest for Games Master Magazine, and to my surprise I came first! I got a Castlevania game like two months before it was released in Europe, and a letter explaining why they choose me and what they liked about it (and a lot of those things still ring true with me now). They even sent everything I made back to me, and sometimes I read stuff back, as it is hilarious what my 13 year old self wrote.
So yeah if anyone has the February 2004 issue of Games Master, have a look because I'm in it! That was my first venture into game design.

RMN Fall Podcast (Part 1)
Finally! Good podcast guys, you asked some good questions. I don't know exactly know how to explain myself but you all seem to be getting a better "presence".
The only complaint I have was that I really couldn't work out what Nessiah was saying during Mateui's interview, but she was crystal clear in the discussions before that.

Map Guess Minigame
I would suggest not leaving your maps in your locker next time!
EDIT: Though you can very easily tell those two where part of the same map by looking at the foliage.

Should you make a demo for your first game?
Yeah I think you definitely should. You can only gain from uploading a demo. You can be a really smart guy, but when you’re working a game or a new idea, you still need someone to give you a fresh perspective on a few things. You could end up making a lot of progress but heading in the wrong direction.
A demo doesn’t have to start from the beginning, just show off some ideas or characters that you’re working on, and see how people respond. If you want to upload the first 20 minutes of your game where shit all happens, don’t bother. It’s just to get your head straight and you know what’s working and what isn’t. But if you’re worried that everyone respond badly to your demo or something, just take your download down, nuke your game page and call everyone a faggot.
